Demos

I document every step of my creative process, intentionally or otherwise. By the time music reaches post-production, I find myself sitting on troves of low-fidelity recordings full of squeaky nylon guitar noodling, creaky piano keys, and singing in hushed tones. Whether I'm waking up in the middle of the night with a melody or ducking out of a class or the shower, an idea hangs over my head and blares at full volume until I birth it into our plane. I don't choose when it strikes. Nobody expects it. But after everything's recorded, I can listen back and hear the bones of my songs when they were just inklings swimming around in my brain. So here are my demos, the sounds of fleeting bursts of inspiration in inconvenient places.
